Protestors demonstrating about the construction of the controversial Thirty Meter Telescope – or TMT – in Hawaii are continuing their blockade despite the risk of arrest.

Opponents of the $1.4 billion telescope project say it will desecrate the mountain which is sacred to the native Hawaiian people.

The protestors have been raising funds in the capital Honolulu and towns on Oahu and plan to return to the Big Island today.
